Why is Jeep adding a pickup truck model to its lineup?
Some folks may question why Jeep is expanding its vehicle lineup to include a pickup truck when the brand already has a variety of SUV models that are extremely popular. The short answer is that the automotive market is moving towards increased demands for SUVs and trucks, and Jeep is responding to that demand to provide consumers with more options and variety when looking at pickup trucks.
The addition of these new models will also create many new jobs, and is part of an industrialization plan that Jeep originally announced in January 2016. Plants in Michigan and Ohio will be responsible for the creation of these new models, adding over 2,000 jobs in those areas. By expanding these plants to produce these vehicles, the plant in Michigan will also become able to produce Ram heavy duty trucks, again adding more jobs in that area.
While we don’t have official specs or details about these new Jeep models, we do know that the Jeep pickup truck will be available in the first half of 2019. Stay tuned for more details about these new Jeep models as they become available! For all your automotive needs, come to Palmen Motors!
