The standard engine for the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty is a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine. This produces up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.
However, additional engine options exist.
The first is a Cummings 6.7L I-6 High Output Turbo Diesel engine. This produces up to 400 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. This new engine is 60 lbs less than the previous generation engine from Ram yet produces a fair bit more horsepower and torque.
Additionally, there is a second variant of the Cummings Turbo Diesel engine. This lacks the high output of the previous version, yet still produces up to 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque.

2019 Ram Heavy Duty models equipped with the Cummings 6.7L I-6 Turbo Diesel engine are paired with an upgraded 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission.
