The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan set to star in Chrysler commercial

Bob Dylan Chrysler Superbowl Ad

But which song will it be?

It’s been confirmed that Bob Dylan will star in a Superbowl ad for Chrysler this year. It’s not a first for Dylan or Chrysler – Dylan’s done ads for Jeep in the past, and Chrysler has a long history of getting world-renowned musicians in on the Superbowl ad experience. You may recall recent years seeing Eminem and producer Berry Gordy in on the action.  The ad is said to be featuring a song from Dylan’s catalog, but no word yet as to which one. So the only question that’s really a mystery for us is:

Which song will it be?

The Chrysler 300

For fun, we’ve compiled a list of possible Dylan tunes and the angle they could take to sell our favorite Chrysler models. Take a look, and see if you’ve got any additional guesses or suggestions.

The Man in Me: Maybe a Chrysler 300’s front grille will open up to sing about the gentleman seated within its confines. Too literal? They could also make it a Lebowski thing.

Positively 4th Street. Don’t be fooled by the name. This song is anything but positive. In our imaginary Chrysler ad, Bob Dylan sings this song while driving through an empty town in a Chrysler 200 convertible with a determined expression. He’s unflappable.

It Ain’t Me, Babe. A woman tries to find the minivan of her dreams. Many disappoint, but the Town & Country wins her over in the end.

Town & Country

Hurricane. The entire story of Rubin “Hurricane” Carter is dramatized in a two-minute TV spot. Carter, aged 76 and a free man today, appears at the end and drives off into the sunset in a Chrysler. Not a dry eye in the house.

Forever Young. The history of the Chrysler company is reminisced upon, and it’s dazzling future laid out before us. It’s nostalgic, uplifting, and beautifully shot.

Tangled Up in Blue. Ten to twenty blue Chrysler 200s weave a beautiful pattern before your awestruck eyes. It was done on computers but it looks so rich and luscious you’d never know.

What will it really be? Probably none of the above, but we can’t wait to see it! Happy Superbowl viewing this Sunday from your friends at Palmen!
