The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is all-new and features plenty of interior and exterior updates to make this vehicle the most advanced Wrangler model yet! The Wrangler maintains some of its iconic design features, like the seven-slot grille and round headlights, but adds updated elements like a new "keystone" shape of the grille, and a full-length rain gutter that doubles as an attachment point for roof-rack systems. The rake of the windshield has also been increased to enhance aerodynamic efficiency.
The 2018 Wrangler JL is offered in two- or four-door models. Two-door models are offered in Sport, Sport S, and Rubicon trim levels, while the four-door models add a Sahara trim in between Sport S and Rubicon levels. Inside the Wrangler JL, a backup camera and push-button start are standard on all trim levels, as well as halogen headlamps, fog lamps, cruise control, five USB outlets, hill start assist and more.
The Jeep Wrangler has three top options that are more sleek and convenient than ever before. The standard Sunrider top has been dramatically improved, now entirely free of zippers and with an improved framework that allows it to be raised and lowered faster. The Sky One-Touch power-top is another option for those that are looking for the most convenience. This option has an electronically operated full-length canvas roof that slides rearward at the press of a button to open approximately 90 percent of the roof. This option is only available on Sahara and Rubicon four-door options. Finally, there is the Freedom Top three-piece hardtop available on Sahara and Rubicon models.
The Jeep Wrangler JL has a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 base engine. This engine produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can be paired with either the standard 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. Available in 2019 is a diesel option on four-door models. This engine is a 3.0-liter V6 engine that gets 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The most exciting new option is a turbocharged 2.0-liter with e-Torque assist. This inline-four-cylinder engine reaches 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque connected with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL will be available later this year. Stay tuned for more information!
